Question Better Suspension

I am looking to upgrade the rear suspension on my 07 RG, and get away from the air shocks, using more of a gas filled with coil type. Has anyone changed out the oem shocks on their touring for something other then an air shock. Appreciate any input. Thanks....

I'm running Progressive 412s on my 06 and am very happy with them.

I've run Progressive 440's on my last 3 bikes and although they are a definite improvement over stock I like the Works Street Trackers I now have even better. I also added Works dual rate front fork springs which was also an improvement. You can spend much more on suspension upgrades but these were an affordable solution for me. The shocks and springs along with the Bagger Brace have been a major improvement in handling.

Never tried the Works Street Trackers so I can't speek to that but I am running Progressive 412's on my Y2K Road King and am very happy with them.

You will want to check this thread out that covers Penske shocks.

I installed 12" Progressive 440s on the rear and the Progressive lowered spring kit on the front...even with the reduced travel over stock the difference was simply amazing! Well worth the $$$!

I had Works Performance on my '99 Dyna Sport and have Progressive 440 on my '06 Streeter. I also checked out the Penske units and found you pay a PREMIUM for the name (I'm sure those things are listed under extravagance in the biker dictionary and I have no doubt they're good). Performance between the two (Works-Progressive) is equal so let your wallet be your guide.

I blew out one of my OEM air shocks on the RG. I replaced them with Progressive 440s because of the warranty. I'm impressed with them.

I don't remember exactly but I think they were around $535.
