Default Stabilizer talk

With all of the stabilizer wars going on,does anyone really know how much force is being created when encountering a sweeper? How solid of a stabilizer do we really need?
Did any of the mfg's do any testing besides drawing up some prints, machining a hunk of aluminum,or welding some rods and a plate together, slaping it on a bike and saying it stopped the wobble?

All the info/feedback we have now is........
1)mine is better because it is 6061 T__ aluminum, fully machined and has engraving, and shorter bolts.
2)mine is better because it bolts to the swingarm area.
3)mine is better because it cost 2 HD's less.
4)bla bla bla bla

Since I don’t think I have ever experienced this wobble, and yes I do push the RG from time to time, I have been a bit skeptical about what is offered. Like you, I wonder about forces acting on the brace and the long term effects these forces will have on the engine/transmission and frame. Having spent my early years working in R & D designing and deploying data acquisition systems to capture engine stress data I had the opportunity to “see” the results of metal fatigue failures and the consequences therein.

I just learned that Progressive Suspension is selling a brace and that offers a lot of credence to the problem and the cure. Since these guys deal with and in a dynamic mechanical environments most of the time I believe they have the tools to design, model (FEA analysis) and test the bracket they sell. They also have something to lose if the product fails.

I’ll probably try one to see if I can notice any difference in my ride.

FYI: Last two rides 05 and 07 RG. Combined mileage a bit over 55K miles. Both ridden on Road America track. Lots of miles ridden in VW and OR.
