Really played into my decision... pros/cons. My bags won't lock, that's unfortunate but I like the look and knowing the theme of the custom paint I wanted, I was afraid I'd look like a billboard-on-wheels as I'd have defintley have had the hard bags painted with something. Congrad's on your new ride!!!!!!! Happy 4 ya!!!!!!!!!

welcome and enjoy your new ride. their are aftermarket companies that do make locks for the saddlebags, i found this link for a ridding buddy that wanted to lock his bags on a heritage softtail classic,and theyalso had locks for road king classic http://www.lockitt.com/accessories_saddlebaglocks.htm

Tkx all! BTW, I take personal responsibility for the temps in Memphis suddenly dropping into the 40s/20s. I took delivery

I might just do that aftermarket lock so many have kindly pointed me to, though I do believe in 'if they want it they'll get it'. A passer-by or young-kid deterrent. Lining the saddle with a garbage back and lifting it all out at a motel sounds awfully easy.
I have decided I will not add HDs' pod at 2500cu, when a descent sized suit case easily tops 4000cu. When Sara's not with me, I'll take two.
I'm going to HD after church, see if they sell or recommend a spray on or wipe on waterproofing for the saddles and windsheild pouch. It's a new bike, I'm so proud. Even bought a heater for the garage... this winter the propane bill will go up
