Would like to install Lowering Kit without buying new shocks. Any one with the best kit? Let me know please. Jim

Default lowering kit for touring bikes

This is an awesome kit. Big daddy is my best friend...and he has a great lowering kit.

Check out the website.

On an '05 Ultra:

Don't use the R.U.B. kit - you'll bottom out big time.

WORKS Street Trackers - worth the money IMHO.

SWEET.

Default cut wiring harness

Any lowering kit that lowers much over an inch can bottom out and cut or damage your under the fender wiring. I cut mine in less than 50 miles with the 2 inch setting, and lost all rear lights. It does not seem to bottom out in the 1 inch hole. This is on a 2007 ultra, with 175lb rider, with road 6 custm kit.

If you keep the shock air pressure up you may not bottom out. For those who are using these, check you wiring harness. I rerouted mine and ran it on top of the fender and back in just in front of the license plate.

IMO shocks are the best way to go.
