Just for your information, the rear brake caliper on my '09 SG could not be removed from the rotor with the wheel attached and the bike up on a lift.
It is not necessary to remove it to replace brake pads though. If you read the SM, it does state to remove the caliper from the rotor.
I just replaced my factory pad with Lyndall Z-Pads. Old pads (800 miles), dropped out, new pads were inserted without an issue. It does make it easier if you remove the caliper mounting bolts so the caliper can be moved around some...I didn't even have to compress the pistons, there was plenty of space to slide the new pads into place.
Took about 10 minutes....Now onto the front ones.....
Will these pads fit an 09 Ultra? How much and where did you get them..? I have 5500 miles on mine and will need some soon if you needed them at 800! Mine looked good at the 5000 mile maintenance check. Thanks.

My stock pads were like brand new....I replaced them with the Lyndall pads for no more brake dust, no noise and longer lasting.....
