So far, I am real happy with mine. I do have a 8" Clearview windshield on order as of today. For me, the jury is still out on the seat. I need to take a 200 mile ride, and then I will decide. I put pipes on it and want to do the AC, but that requires some additional dough to be spent, and I am still thinking about that. All in all, it has been a good purchase so far. Traded a 07 Fat boy for it.
I talked to a tech and a parts guy at the local dealership about their 09's Sat.They are disappointed that they still have the " wobble thing" going on.
Oh the "wobble"? Get your popcorn and a six pack, you'll need it.
My opinion after 1176 miles? Great bike overall, best of both worlds. Handles great, rides smooth, gearing is spot-on, TBW work flawlessly as does the cruise, stereo is adequate but I will be upgrading soon, exhaust is the best sounding factory setup I've ever heard but I want a little more rumble so I'll be doing the Jackpot slipon's as soon as somebody has the PC V packages ready!
Cons: 4" windshield sure looks cool but doesn't function well, replaced mine with a 6" and it's better, prolly put a 10" on for a trip. Seat is a little wide in the nose and padding where it counts leaves something to be desired but big deal, change it!
This is my first post so be kind. I traded my 2004 softail std in on a vivid black 2009 SG about 4-5 weeks ago. What a difference. I know that is not comparing apples to apples. I liked the softail for short rides but kind of stayed away from long rides. My wife hated it.
Now about the SG. I love it and my wife can actually ride with me for awhile.
I had the H-D pillow seat, mid-height back rest and passenger floor boards installed when I bought it. That helps with the passenger comfort. I have only put about 700 miles on it so far and am now snowed it.
I am impressed by the way this bike handles. It feels like a much lighter, smaller bike.
I also like a 6-speed gearbox. I do plan to replace the windshield with something a little taller. Don't like the buffeting I sometimes get (depends on wind angle).
I tried the 2 small windshild pouches and they caused a lot of windshield vibration at about 2000 RPM. I tried extra rubber mounts, etc and could not stop the vibration. Possibly with a different windshield the vibration will go away.
The bottom line is I really like this bike. I have had lots of bikes but this is only my 2nd Harley.
#2, this bike has the best exhaust sound of any stock harley bagger I have ever heard. Its just needs to be a touch louder to be perfect. Rineharts mufflers are on the way.
#5 the ride of the SG is pretty jarring over sharp bumps, but I think some of that is the seat, too. On any other surface, it is a jewel.

oh nooo, my stock 09 RG sounds better. I found dat the more air I run in the shocks, the smoother the ride. 10psi and I thought "what da L?" 25psi and now its "ahhhh".
