Default Leaking gasket

I ride a 2007 EG Classic (27000 miles). I have a gasket leaking where the motor and transmission bolt together.(engine case) I first started noticing it several months back but didn't pay much attention to it. It doesn't actually drip oil but leaves a greasy metallic residue that will stain your finger or whatever you rub it off with. I have the bike at the dealer now being repaired(under warranty). Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what may have caused it? Thanks.

There is not a gasket between the tranny and the engine, but I think most bikes do this...That is what I was told. I almost forgot to say that there is not any oil there either. The engine and tranny are separate compartments with different kinds of oil.

Thats funny the parts manual shows different? Many here have had this fixed by dealers under warranty.

I think its pretty common I have two 07 s and they both have a little oil dampness in that area. No drips yet I showed one of the bikes to service manager and he said to clean with brake cleaner and see if it comes back. I have not done this yet.

OK...I did all the disassembly/reassembly when I painted my scoot.
There was no gasket between the trans/motor on mine.
What year did HD start doing this?
Did MOCO screw me out of a gasket!?

I don'y have the seepage problem, but I would like to know.

If there is not a gasket there should be so it wouldn't be metal to metal. I just looked at mine and if it is there I can't see the edge of it.
