I only have 120 miles on my RKC. If I keep it to 65 mph and vary the throttle from time to time can I hit the freeways yet? These side streets are killing me.[sm=bangbang.gif]
HH, I would definately try and show some restraint here. Don't you have ANY will power at all? Can't you wait til you got at least............................................. .................................................. ................ 200 miles on it?[sm=joke.gif] That's when I couldn't stand it any more. My baby was just beggin to hit the highway and she purred like a kitten when she got on it. I just varied my speed and didn't stay at one setting for very long. Go for it.[sm=trust_me.gif]
I rode my 05 Ultra home with 4 miles on it. I constantly varied the speed from 50 to 70 on my 45 mile ride. After that I just rode it but I never went above 85 for the first couple of hundred miles although I did have some hard accellerationin there.
I've used regular HD oil and am just shy of 10K miles. I never have had to add oil between changes and I've gotten between 45 and 55 mpg.
I'll be going all synthetic at 10K. I ran stcok for the first 9K mile and have gone to a K&N air fileter and T-rex true duals and SERT.
I think if you baby it you'll be sorry and if you abuse it you'll also be sorry. Use regular HD oil to seat the rings and ride it about as hard as you always will, just don't abuse it. I've had no, repeat no issues in almost 10K miles.
I'm going to put on some new tires and ride the California coast next month.
Have had my 2006 RK 3 weeks to the day. Have exactly 1047 miles on already. Dealership picking up Monday for first 1000 mile check up. I have been on the highway, side roads, in town, out of town; all the time varying my speed. Today was my first day running it over 70 and I swear it purred like a kitten. Didn't run it long, but long enough to know it wanted more. I'll tell you now this King is not going to be a putty cat garage ornament. [sm=icon_rock.gif]
