I have installed the "Burley" lowering brackets on the rear of my 08 Ultra. I really like the new, lower seat height while riding solo. But.... with two up and packed for a trip the rear bottoms out on any sharp bump. I have increased air pressure in the rear shocks to no avail. I am now looking at purchasing the factory "profile low touring shocks". Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this matter?
Thanks
Look into Bitchinbaggers.com, Some have used them and are really happy. Easy enough to buy a set like yours on ebay and send them off, they do the work, you still ride. My next mod.-Boom
When I bottomed out my 07 ultra, with lowering blocks, it cut the rear wiring harness. You may want to check yours, at least check all your rear lights. Either the Harley low profile shocks or the modified ones would be my reccomendation.
Just intalled bitchinbaggers cut down shocks 1 & 1/2 inches...Ride is fine so far but haven't ridden 2 up yet. I will tell you that they are better than any other way I've tried. If lowering is what you definately want. I can honestly say that this is the way to go.

I just put a set of the Arnott air-ride shocks on my 07 Ultra. It lowers the rear quite a bit and according to Arnott, with all the pressure out of the system, the rear fender still wont hit the tire.
Im running a 21x18 set up and went with the Alden Arnotts.
I installed the HD "profile low" shocks on my ultra and while they do work good the ride is somewhat stiffer or less compliant. I ride solo 90% of the time wilth the air at 7-10 psi. 2 up I bump up the air pressure to 30-35 and the ride is decent. The stock 13" shocks do however provide a softer more cush ride. There always is a trade off of somekind for lowering a bike.
So if you lower back end is it necessary to lower front end? I have an 09 ultra and am staight legged when stopped. Backing up cna be an issue if there's aslight slope. and 2 up backing up forget it. Some thinh narrower front on the seat would help. Want to hear other experience. I had an 03 ultra no issues at any time with stance or backing up.
I am also ordering the Arnot air ride system for my 09 Ultra. Like don juan said it is very difficult to back up the 09 UC. I am 5'9" and have problems. I will order next week and install myself. Had no problem on my 06 Ultra. System will go from 13" (stock) down to 9.5" shock length. Should be much better at a stop. Also ordered the lowered center stand from Wheeldock today. There is a thread running now with a bulk buy to forum members. I think I was the 10th to buy and they need 15 to get the lowest price of $240. I plan to raise my air ride, lower the center stand then lower the bike onto the stand. Won't have to pull it up on the stand. We will see how it goes.
