well, here's a set of used 1 season soft lowers, bid right now is at 1.00, buy it now for 22.00. i have no stake in this sale, just happened to see them. do a search on ebay for item number: 200280898238

just got mine a couple of weeks ago, definitely worth it. but like the instructions say, don't use them above 50*, you will feel the heat.

I bought some last week. Lots a bang for the buck! I rode in 36 deg temps and my feet/lower legs were lovin me!

And yes, don't ride with them on above 50. I could smell hot oil the other day as it got warmer outside. Very bad for the motor.

For $39 what the hell, and you can also take em off
and on in no time.
Which ones were these?

Thumbs up

I have used em on my RG for several years now because they work well & offer great bang for the buck. They do seem to knock off a couple mpg but it's well worth it on an 18 deg. morning like we had a couple days back.

I have the Road Spirit ones that are on e-bay now for $26 + 8 shipping (I pd 32)and really like the easy on and off with velcro. They work fine and fold up small so I'm planning on keeping them on the bike for rain also.

I don't get the part about not using them above 50 degrees. Don't the hard lowers block the same amount of air? There's no temperature warning on them.

I just went out during the lunch hour and bought a set of lowers from the local H-D. There is an instruction sheet enclosed that mentions the temperature range and that engine overheating may occure above 50 degrees. Actually, the lowers only provide a narrow slit no wider than the gap between the two front down frame members for air to hit the jugs.
Installing them on the RG leaves the top part a bit wrinkled because of the fairing supports that are mounted on the engine guards. Also, the location of the footpegs on the engine guards has to be specific to hit the slot on the lowers or once again, the materiel will not lay flat and smooth.
Now I'm wondering if the lowers for touring models has a specific design for the RG. I told the dealer that's what I was putting them on.

The part that attaches to the frame on my RG is right dead center of the reflectors , I popped the reflectors off , they're glued on ..

Nope there isnt an RG specific one either ..
