Default Security Question

I have been thinking of adding a security system to me 2007 FLHTC....I would welcome all ideas....go with the Harley system? Try an aftermarket system?

I put the Harley system on my Ultra last spring and love it. There are a ton of posts on here dealing with the security systems. Do a search, read, read, read and then make up your mind. It's a simple and straight forward install and I installed it easily. However, I then had to trailer the bike to the dealer to get bike ecu programmed to recognize and communicate with the security module. Some guys here say that is not required, but I could not figure out how to make it work. I pitched a big enough fit over it at the dealer that I only got charge a few bucks and not their minimum 1 hour labor rate. Of course, I did not have a service manual at that time. I do now, but never looked it up.

Yeah, I'd get the factory system. Order it from one of the discount dealers.
Develop a plan so that you don't have the fob close enough to your bike to start it and leaving it at home. Keep your owners manual with you incase you need to manually disable.

i wouldn't worry about keeping the manual with you. just be sure to set your code (don't leave it at the dealer default) and learn the procedure to bypass it. once you learn it, it isn't so bad. just the first time or two can be difficult.
