Went for a ride today with some buddies. Hit some corners good and hard and when I got home I noticed I had drug the bottom outside edge on the extended bag. Is this normal? My question is, I am going to 18" wheels this week, will it give me better clearance to prevent this? I can't see these bags working out for me the way I ride if it doesn't. Thanks.
Thats one heck of a scratch!! I have yet to do that with mine. I have ground half of the right foot board edge off and done a number to the jiffy stand, but have yet to hit the bags. I've been told by people behind me that they cringe because it looks to them that I'll drag a bag, but never do. If I'm 2 up I take it pretty easy and if I'm on a twisty road for the first time I play it safe. I know that I may hit the bag if I dive into a turn that has a dip in it, so I keep that in the back of my mind. It was that type of corner which gave me the dreaded rear waggle, soon as I got home you can figure out what I ordered next. Ride Safe.

I totally remember where it happened. I went into a 35mph curve at about 55-60 and hit a pretty good dip in the middle of it and compressed the shocks. Wow........what would it have done to the bag with the wife on back? What longer shocks are you guys talking about? You have to remember that photo is taken almost from ground level shooting up. It's right on the edge. Not to visible from standing beside the bike. I will have to get some good touch-up paint and be very conscientious in the future about it I guess.

my body guy here said he could put some magnesium plates on the bottom to protect the stretched bags, i asked him why magnesium, his answer was "at night, if you scrape them, it will throw green sparks everywhere." heehee
