I was thinking of getting a new seat for my 09 SG that will bring me lower to the ground. HD has the Reach Seat and Mustang has the Day Tripper, anyone here try these on their touring bikes? Any other seats I should consider? I wonder how they compare with the stock seat as far as ride quality...
I just installed a new Mustang Solo with backrest on 09 Street Glide. Catalog #79600. It lowered me about an inch and the seat is very comfortable. I had a Day Tripper on a previous bike and it is not nearly as comfortable.
I also just found Corbin makes a new solo seat with passenger pillion with a close option. It looks very comfortable in photos but is very expensive compared to HD or Mustang.
Danny Gray Big Seat. Very comfy, lowers you over an inch and brings you forward about the same amount. See my pic below. I also have the pillion seat which is not installed, but looks pretty decent.
I've got the Mustang Solo (rear seat goes on with the wife for short trips too). It looks great, gets alot of attention but you don't want it for anything longer than a couple hours or in around town. It'll lower you at least an inch forward maybe a bit. Price was pretty good.

Yeah, the Day Tripper and Tripper looked like they was a bit hard. I wonder if that Corbin is as soft as it looks in the photos. They have a showroom up in Daytona, maybe i'll take a ride up there before I decide.
Anyone try the HD Reach seat? I guess the dealer will let me try it on the bike and sit on it first. I had a bad experience with the Reach seat on my Vrod which turned out to be too hard.

I ordered a Day Tripper Solo for my Road King in August, took a 450 mile trip and when I got home, sent it back to Mustang. The seat comfort was okay, but it did not fit the RK as well as it should. Full refund and it only cost me $12.00 to send it back to Mustang. Not a bad deal in all.
I had a modified Mustang Vintage Solo on my FXD for 3 years, absolute comfort. Great customer service and depending on the seat, good all day riding, just not the Day Tripper for me.
I actually like the height and reach on my stock 09 SG seat. I am still trying to determine if it is long-haul comfortable. I am wondering if it will get better with age. Anyone have enough saddle time with a stock 09 seat to tell? Any options that are comfortable yet keep the height and reach about the same? (sorry to but into this thread).
