Hey ranman, picked up some stock muffs today. gonna do the same type of deal. After having trouble getting the baffle stuck on the way out, is there anything you would have done differently in your disassembly of the baffle? So the baffle came out of the back of the muff, right?

not sure? the baffle is a bit larger than the inlet. i pinched beat and pulled. the only thing that seamed to work was some lube and a bigger hammer and the pipe to drive it out.
thats what caused the inlet to become out of round just a bit. but is a easy fix.
when mine got real stuck, i just got pizzed and i already had the pipe in the baffle, so i picked it up and used the floor as a hammer driveing it out holding the can.
ranman, think I'm gonna use a hole saw and cut a 1&5/8's hole in the plug on the left one. If not, I'll probably cut the whole 6 inch tube out with a 2 inch hole saw and remove that tube. The right side is open, just has the crap bent inward to capture exhaust and sound. I ran my old antenna all the way through the right one. Probably not gonna do anything to the right side.
Yeah, the left-side muffler is basically a hollow can with an about 6" tube in the tail, folded closed on the inlet end and with about a dozen pea-sized holes in it. I doubt it flows nearly as well as the right-side muffler even stock.
Took a 1 1/4 inch hole saw to my Electra glide pipes. I bought a 2 foot extension & let er fly till it came out the other end. My baffles were beginning to rattle anyways so I had nothing to lose. Went to fire it up today to see what it sounds like but "The old iron bitch" wouldnt fire. Im guessing it hates the colder temps so I will re try tomorrow once the battery is re charged. It has been down for 3 months now getting major surgery so I have my fingers crossed!!!
