Default Storage Bubble

I have a fairly small garage, 1 1/2 car. I am considering a Bike/Storage bubble. Anybody have one?

I live in Chicago so the bike is put away for a few months. My garage stays fairly wet during the winter due to snow melting off the car and the snow blower.

Any experiences would be good and helpful.

BTW, I want to keep the bike at the house instead of storage somewhere so I can work on it through out the winter. I have a few things I want to change, add, and I like to wrench myself.

Thanks,

I've never had one but a buddy of mine used one for a while. I think it's a good idea for those of you who have to store the bike through the winter months. We don't have that issue were we live. He only used it to help keep the bike clean when he wasn't riding it but in that mode, it was too much of a pain to get the bike in and out of. If you're going to be working on the bike on a regular basis, it might not be worth he trouble but once you're ready to put it up, undisturbed for a while, the added protection certainly won't hurt anything. By the way, my friend doesn't use his any more!

Good luck in whatever you decide!

I have one and it is great. Touring size is perfect for Road King Classic W/tour pack and windshield still on. Keeps condinsation off bike. I did not have one last winter and my bike was soaked in the garage when temp goes up it klings to all metal. Not much draw on elec. and my tender is still pluged in as well. I did put a Aramark roll rug under it though.

I considered the "bubble" but decided to spend the money on some lumber and build an enclosure instead to protect the bike from my snowblower while being able to heat it at the same time. All this in a shed. Don't have any pics of the completed project but when I do get them, I'll gladly share. Size is 6'x10' and is made so that I can pull the wall and entry points down in a few minutes should I need or want the area open again.

Neighbor has one and swears by it (he is a neat freak, don't like dust on black and chrome) Air circulation keeps the rust at bay here in NW Ohio's long non riding season.

I just use a heavy harley cover and keep a radiator type small electric heater on low in a enclosed end of the garage. Just enough heat to keep some of the humidity out of the air around the bike.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I plan to build a new garage someday, but for the time being maybe this is an easy decision.

I've used them for years. I swear by them. Keeps all condensation off bike, keeps bike clean, something that not many realize, keeps anyone from touching your bike and also, unlike other covers, you can still see it

I was all set to buy one this year as I'm always fighting the condensation up here in OH, but after seeing how much real estate the bubbles take up I decided to stick with the breathable cover and put the bike on some rubber floor mats. Hopefully that'll keep the condensation at bay. If not - then next year I'll get the bubble.
