I have an 08 Ultra, with rush slip-on and stage 1 kit, I installed the PC III, and uploaded the program that was loaded by fuel moto and had them email it to me again and again installed it, both time I reset the throttle position like the instructions stated.
Problem 1: Fuel milage has droped from 44-46 mpg to 34-36
Problem 2: Flames coming from the exhaust and popping/cracking
They say to set the closed throttle postion setting, done this still same problem.
Any suggestions. Seems to me the price one pays for it, is should operate properly.
You didn't mention whether you'd installed the slipons and/or airbox and ridden the bike around prior to installing the PC-III. If you did, then your Adaptive Fuel Values are skewed and locked into place once the O2 eliminators are installed. This will result in too much (usually) fuel being sent by the stock computer, and that being augmented by the PC-III. I ran into a similar problem initially and solved it by reseting the AFVs, at which point the fuelmoto map was much, much closer to what I needed. At first, it was so rich the engine would hardly pull 90 mph.
This phenomenon is fully repeatable. Jamie, et. al should be sure the AFVs are at 100 prior to developing a PC-III map and the buyer should be told that's what their AFVs should be set to for the PC-III installation.
Had the slip-ons installed at the my local HD and airbox, they reprogramed the ECM, prior to the installed the PC III. How did you reset the AFV's?
Thanks

Please state when you are getting decell popping and I can revise our map as it is already adding fuel in the decell ares, I also highly recommend double checking for an exhaust leak especially at the RH muffler joint, note that a slight amount of decell popping would be normal with the Rush straight thru mufflers although it is pretty minimal. Fuel mileage with this setup is typically 38-42 MPG and this can vary based on riding conditions, temperature and most importantly how heavy you are with the throttle. We can also revise your map as needed and offer full tech support if you give us a call. As for AFV's they are typically not the problem, we have had to reset them on 2 bikes ever (for non related reasons) out of the thousands of bikes we have tuned here.

If you had the ECM flashed this may possibly be your problem based on which calibration they loaded. Note AFV's were reset at that time. We also do have a MPG enhanced map we developed for your setup and can email it to you if you would like to try it.
