SCRATCH on the 09!!!!

I was an idiot and dropped my saddle bag and scratched the lid. I used the touchup paint from my local harley dealer. I dabbed/filled the scratches. I will used a ultra fine grit paper such as 2400 grit and higher grit paper to "wet" sand the dabs down. Did I mention WET sand???? right now I just hvae the dabs applied and it looks pretty good as is, but "I" see it evrytime I look at it, so on to the next stage.....

Bring the bike to a body shop or go to the dealer to see if the have a guy that fixes there scratches (they all do).I had a deep scratch on my tour pack the HD body shop used touch up paint from HD then wet sanded it after it dried he did this several times over a couple of days when I got the bike back u couldnt even find the scratch

Yep, they got em down here in FL too. 09 ultra 3 months old. Someone opened a car door and gouged my right bag in the rear and caught the black piece that holds the light on the tourpak. Never touched my 06 UC. Really pisses you off.

i have minor scratches on the fairing so i bought harley scratch and swirl remover it did work preety good i was happy with the results. and then i put another coat of wax on her. mirror like shine

I've fixed a minor rock chip on the the front fairing of my 08. If your comfortable, get the touch up from HD, 2000 grit wet paper and a nice rubbing compound. While I don't recommend if your not comfortable, it takes some ***** to apply sandpaper to an 08, I was able to fix the ding. You have to really look to see it where before it would scream my name every time I ventured into the garage.

sorry to hear that really sucks someone at the local bar ran into my bike parking

I too think you are in the clear coat because the bags are made out of black ABS plastic. I used rubbing compound on my fairing and now I'm the only one that knows they scratch is there.
