Make sure they lean with you on turns and let them know when to mount and dismount.

leave more time for breaking, allow slower acceleration when taking off from redlights,etc..., tell her not to lean too much, practice in a parking lot for a few mins, show her where the pipes are so she doesnt get burnt, tell her when she looks around to turn her head not turn her whole body, when you stop at stop signs bike will be slightly heavier so pay attention to our lean, most importantly use common sense

Do not drag boots across bags.
You should remember you have extra weight when passing and stopping.
Do not drive over the speed limit.
Stop frequently and let her stretch.
If for a long ride make sure you have a rain suit for her.
Avoid unlevel areas and inclines.
Avoid gravel and sand.

Find an large empty parking lot, and do some practice with the rider.

The following was my response to an earlier thread:
________________________________________________
One thing to share with the passenger is to have them keep their body "straight" in line with the bike. By this I mean that the passenger must not try to keep their body straight up & down when you lean the bike in turns. Additioanlly, it is important that they not try to "help" you by leaning their body. Just keep inline with the bike. THese are common mistakes that inexperienced passengers will make. It must be human nature, but it can cause major stability and control problems

Also, it might be worth spending an hour in a big empty parking lot. This would be good for both rider & passenger. Practice turns, swerves, starts, and stops. A little practice up front just my prove invaluable down the road sometime.

In fact, several us go to a huge staduim parking lot occassionally with cones and do various practice exercises - both solo and two-up. See my avitar...

It is definitely TIME WELL SPENT.

Great tip. Most passengers don't know ahead of time exactly when you're going to negotiate a turn. The tip we were given in the Riders Edge course was for the rider to look over the shoulder in the direction you are turning, no additional leaning or weight transfer by the passenger. Turning right, passenger looks over your right shoulder. Makes sense to me.

I agree make sure she picks her feet up over the bags. My sweetie is 5ft 9in tall and 130 lbs. I was shocked how much it affected the braking distance. Brake way early. I just learned on the previous post it affects passing as well. I have not done that yet but will keep heads up on that. Bob.
