I was upset when Hot Bike changed to Bagger but now I've grown to like it. But given the reponses here, it looks like I'm going to have to check out American Bagger as well.
Not trying to be a downer here and this will probably get a bunch of people hot but there ain't no good bagger magazines. I say this with sadness because the Harley accessory market needs a TRUE comparison magazine that actually expresses an opinion and makes informed comparisons of products. This is necessary to help curb the runaway prices for anything Harley. Neither of the two periodicals ever gives the reader any comparative view. They simply provide another set of installation insrtructions and call it a "Tech" article some of which are followed by a dyno sheet that is nearly impossible to read. Just read the "Wilwood Brakes Tech" article in the Jan. '09 issue of Hot Bike Baggers. Nowhere do they actually test OR install a set of these brakes. No, it's nothing more than a brief Wilwood catalogue that they're calling a "Tech" article. How bogus is that? If all you're looking for is a bagger catalogue either one of these will do. If you're looking for performance info look to the forums and shops 'cause you sure ain't gonna find any help in the bagger mags. JMO
American Bagger is pretty good. I subscribe to it and they seem to be improving as time goes along. I also get American Rider. To me it is just OK. Probably my favorite is American Iron. I haven't heard of Hot Bike Bagger before so may have to check it out.
I like both the bagger magazines, Hot Bike Bagger and American Bagger. I also really like American Rider, but, I hate the fact that it is every other month. I like American Rider because it is not just customs but about RIDING. Something baggers do quite well. I wish the magazines covered more parts comparisons and riding destinations; not just custom bikes.
I got a free copy in an order I got from JP Cycles. I liked it so much that I subscribed...for 2 years. Hell, I didn't even know there was an American Biker Magazine until I got the free copy. See, advertising works.

Same here, free with a JP order.
Been meaning to subscribe but haven't yet.
Got a free copy of Hot Bagger the other day, not bad but American Bagger is better in my opinion.
