Unless your planning on storing the bike for a yr or two, I think it your wasting your time and money. No offense, but I don't think that a bike sitting still for a couple months is going to cause "Flat Spots" that is going to effect the ride for more than a couple miles once you start riding again.
Charlie, The straps should hold if you tighten them snug. Unless you are backing your car into the bike (like the two salesmen for J&S) you should be fine. After reading about how the bike just teeters on the Sears jacks, I went out to mine tonight and kicked it around a bit. I have a ton of mods on my heavy RG, but it felt pretty sturdy to me. Of course, I haven't backed the car into it yet ;-)
Yea, just pitch what you already paid for and buy what this clown has. Did anyone ask what type of jack they should buy? OK, we get it, J&S is a good jack but it is certainly not the best. Some cannot afford it and some just don't need it. Great, you are happy. Save your sales pitch for those who ask. Look, another J&S fan. What a D-Bag.
Who pizzed in your Post Toasties?
I have/ the Sears Jack POS...unstable period!
No need for straps with J&S
Strap your bike on the Sears...now climb on top of it!
Expensive? Compared to what? All the cheap Taiwan chrome you've bought?
Some have not heard of other jacks, just another option!
Like I said, I'd let my Sears jack go REALLY cheap!
Thanks for letting us know what we can and can't post to a subject, from now on I'll run it by you first!

Oh, I'm just an a$$hole all the time and consider it a compliment to be called such. I am also tired of you turds pushing products on every thread when no one asked what type of jack they should buy. Make your own post about how great they are so it can be avoided by those who have heard it a thousand times.
How do you know what i purchased? No pictures or info for you to attack me so you thought you would just shoot in the dark and see if you hit a nerve? You lose again.
Why would i want to climb on my bike on a jack stand? Do you go vroom vroom when you climb up on yours? Is that where you do your best riding?
Trust me, EVERYONE has heard about how crappy their sears jack is and how they are going to drop their bike and die and how great J&S is. Old news and i will buy one when i need one but all i do with my crappy sears jack is wash my bike as i am too busy riding it to work on it and i am sure the J&S will rust out just as fast.
Post whatever you want, just don't get your panties in a wad when someone does not agree with what you posted.
I have that very same jack. I use 1 strap and hook it on the back axle of the jack, run it through the frame underneath, and hook it to the front axle of the jack. See pic.
How about one of the center stands that bolt on, Harley or Wheeldock. Would there be enough weight off of the tires so the tires would not flatspot or be damaged while sitting on a cold concreat floor for a while?
And as somebody who's been reading these threads a while, I have to second the comment about being tired of reading replies to honest questions that boil down to "I bought something better than the junk you have". But that's the price of free speech, I guess!

Flat spots take a relatively long time to develop. If you are that concerned about flat spots, how hard is it to roll your bike 6-8" every few weeks or so?
Also, don't neglect tire pressure during storage, especially in cold environments because the pressure will decrease with cold temps. Keeping the tire properly inflated helps keep the tires in proper shape.
By the way, the center stand takes some weight off the rear tire but not off the front.
Did you make the video?? Good job if you did. Thats plenty strong enough for my use and yes, I own the yellow one.
No, but I think it was made by a forums subscriber a while back in response to this same issue about the yellow jack. I have the yellow jack, too, but I'm not sure I'd manhandle my road glide up in the air like that. And I'm positive that I wouldn't do it in flipflops!
