Question Securing Road Glide to Motorcycle Stand

Just picked up the yellow motorcycle jack from Sears, on sale for $159. What is the best way to secure the bike to the jack? It came with two straps that they basically just throw over the saddle. Thanks

I just put both of mine up. Put the Sportster on a $39 Harbor Freight Dolly man is it stable. The Road Glide I have it on the yellow sears jack on the first lock position. Not as stable as the stand but I did not use the straps....just thought it would be a pain because I still ride once or twice a month. Looking into the Harley mounted stand or the wheeldock. Would one of the stands get enough weight off the tires so they will not flat spot if left sitting for a while?

I take my seat off, and run the strap over the frame. Pull it tight -- good for winter!

I run my straps over the bottom of the frame. The frame is nice and wide so I think the bottom works fine. Just be sure not to pinch a wire or anything. I just don't like the straps being pulled up tight against my bike.

I tighten a strap around the engine and the round black bar of the Sears red jack as shown in the following pics. This works very well.

Great jack !! Love how it will slide under both of my lowered bikes.

I have a J&S, don't have to strap it at all, roll it around the garage in full up position (about 19") no straps, climb on it, no straps. Once I discovered the awsome J&S jack I scrapped both the red and yellow Sears, too dangerous in any position, especially if you do any serious work on your bike.

Be sure to strap the Sears jack, so when the bike falls over the jack will go with it.

Yea, just pitch what you already paid for and buy what this clown has. Did anyone ask what type of jack they should buy? OK, we get it, J&S is a good jack but it is certainly not the best. Some cannot afford it and some just don't need it. Great, you are happy. Save your sales pitch for those who ask. Look, another J&S fan. What a D-Bag.
