Default legitimate tire pressure question

OK guys, I am pretty new to bikes, I have something I am concerned with. I have had my RK for a few months, it has just over 700 miles on it. The delaer told me the front tire pressure should be about 38 psi. I checked it tonight it was down to 25. I haven't ridden it for a few days, I live in East Alabama so it hasn't been super cold. It is garaged and parked on a rug. Should it have lost that much air? I have the 09 cast wheels. My rear tire was only a few pounds low

Just because the dealer said to put 38 psi in it doesn't mean it left the shop like that. If it is a spoked wheel most likely has a tube in it. Take the valve stem cap off and put a little soap on it to see if the valve is holding air.

Yeah, I would air both tires up myself and then re-check them in about a week. Does your Owner's Manual state 38#? Go by the Manual. For my '07 it states 36#.

13# loss seems a little high to me.

Check your tire pressure as often as you can and with cold tires. It will proling the life of the tire for sure...

yeah, admittedly, I hadn't been able to check it up until now. I am so glad someone posted that question about how to do it......no seriously, I just got my hands on a gauge that I can get in there and be confident it is getting a good read. On these cast wheels and dual discs the front is harder for me to get to than the rear. I checked my MOM it is 36. I don't think they were as low as I thought. I probably lost a lot more air than I realized trying to get the other gauge on there. I got them back to 36/40 and we will see what it does. Thanks for the answers. Glad I didn't get a "oh jeez, is he serious?"

oh geez, is he serious? lol, just had to throw that in there. but seriously, once you get a guage that you are comfortable using, don't lose it.... and check that pressure regular. if not each morning before you ride, at least once a week.

Just make sure you put it on a jack and line up the valve stems as soon as you can.

I run 40 front and rear and am about to change front tire for the first time with 25000 miles on it I ride like I stole it so I guess it worked well for me.
