Default Another Tire Question

OK so after only about 4500 miles I got a screw in rear tire. Called 2 dealers got two different prices on tires one was for $131.00+tax the other was $140.00+tax, and about $37.00 for labor on mounting and balancing on wheel. Is this a decent tire price for a dealer? Seems that they have gone up some since the last time I bought one a few months ago....

Get your tires from JP Cycles, shipping is free and the tires are 20% less or more.

I plugged my rear dunlop and rode on it until it was bald. No problem, your choice.

BTW, since when was riding a motorcycle considered safe?

I had the same issue, could not keep nails and screws out of the tires. Each time it was about $200 for tire and installation. However I did not go to dealer, these guys did it for me over lunch break. Michelin or Metzler tires are what I run.

that doesn't mean that we have to add to the risk factor.

some people are not comfortable with plugs while (obviously) others are. if it were me, i would plug it to get somewhere, then have a tube installed until the tire is ready for replacement (based of course on the amount of life left)

I agree, peace of mind is worth a couple of hunderd to me.

$175 mounted give or take is not that bad.

No great deal but not a rip off either.

Just my .02,

Krusr
