Finished the install of the Progressive 440 shocks and drop in spring replacement on my '06 Ultra. The difference is noticeable. The only thing I'm not too pleased with and really don't understand is the ride height dropped.
I cut the PVC spacer for the springs to the 1.75" that Progressive recommended in their instructions and installed the shocks as detailed. Putting my bike next to another '06 and measuring the two it appears that my frame is almost 3/4" lower than stock.
Anyone else do a similar install on a similar bike and have results to compare? Thanks.
I just put powdercoated legs on my 07 Rg and there was no pvc spacer. I was going to put the HD lowering kit in (which is actually a stock Street Glide springs) but I didnt want to take a chance in loosing cornering ability.
The springs were the same length as my stock ones, but the dampner only had 2 holes instead of 4. You may want to put the stock height spacer back in and get your ride height back.
