Default Flag pole holders

I hoping that someone can offer me some direction with adding a flag pole holder to my EGC. I have a removable tour pack so lets get that outta the way. The flag I have to carry is a parade sized flag, somewhere in the neighborhood of a 3' x 5' size and the staff is about 4 to 5 feet long. I will be traveling at speeds of up to 65 mph. I looked around a good bit and didn't find another thread on this subject so if I missed it please tell me. I also looked around the internet but only found the small plastic and chrome ones that either mount to your tour pack, luggage rack or plate. It's looking like I will have to fabricate one but I'm trying to avoid that for lack of time. You do understand that I will have to get it chromed ! I would appreciate any help with this. Regards ~ Marc

There was a guy in a parade last year that had a full size flag. If I remember right, he was using a trailer hitch, and added support arms about 3 or 4 feet up from the bottom. Sorry but I did not get any photos of it.

be prepared to be blown all over the lanes at that speed and with that size flag! Best to keep it cased until you need to unfurl it for the event! Check with Run foir the Wall (www.rftw.org)...their advance team runs a flag like that (bigger, actually) and the rider is the only one who can manage it, and he is a long time motorcop and excellent rider.

Most of the people I've seen keep the flags put away and the poles strapped to the bikes. They normally set everything up at the staging area before rolling out. Not many poles out there that can handle 65+ mph ride with a 3 x 5 flag on it. They snap in half pretty quick.

Thanks for the help guys. I had planned on keeping the flad wrapped up until the event. The event itself is about an hour or so ride around town on the interstate and thru town ( Jacksonville ). If there as many bikes as last year, should be around 1100 to 1200 bike turn out for the event.
