You will never find anyone more proud of their country than me (The same goes for being proud or our veterans.), but unless you are riding in a parade, flags do not belong on a bike - they belong on flag poles.
The same goes for stuffed animals (Except the flag pole part. <G>), unless you are doing a toy run for kids.
Of course everyone is welcome to do what they want to their bike - as I said, it's my opinion.
flags on bikes to me are like the window flags on cars !
they both look like sh*t and have no business on cars or bikes
to much of a distraction for other drivers/riders to look at when there
on there cell phones and run me off the road !
if you want to fly a flag thats great put it on your house.
it really kills me when you see full size large azz flags on the back of bikes
that are bigger then the bike
ok im done NEXT

I agree 100%. I bought a couple nice chrome flag mounts and got lazy after attending a few PGR functions. I decided to leave the flags on and discovered the wind was causing the trailing edges to fray badly. I don't think the flags are intended to hold up to the constant wind buffeting.
I only fly my flags at PGR missions or Legion functions. The flags that fray are the cheap a$$ 6" x 9". I have the high quality 11" x 15" and they hold up well. Fly them whenever and wherever you want, it's your choice. I'm sure everyday riding will ruin them though.
I disagree with you guys. This is America and the more flags the better. I think they also make me more noticeable. I'm proud to fly all 3 of my flags all the time. I got hem from Rumbling Pride, they are 6 X 9 and have been on for 3 years and not one frayed edge. Do you really think that size matters when it comes to material fraying? Probably on a full size 3' X 5', but not when you're talking inches.
I fly an American flag, a family flag and HOG flag - proudly.
Being a Canadian I am very proud of the country I live in. I proudly fly the Canadian flag at my cottage in the far north. I would not however fly a flag on my bike. To me it would be a distraction. Just my opinion.
I fly 2 3' X 5" American Flags and one 9" X 19" American flag and one 9" X 11" POW/MIA flag. The small ones are on the bike all the time. I replace them when they start getting a little frayed, but buying good nylon flags will help them last a long time. The 3' X 5' flags are on for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and PGR missions (and on May 5th if I am riding in hispanic neighborhoods). When riding to missions at highway speeds, the flags are rolled and in custom made nylon pouches.
I am proud to be an American and show it by flying my flags, I fly a 11"x15"American and 6"x9"US Navy, MIA and Nevada flag and don't see how it is a distraction unless you are looking out the back of your head.
