New Mods...
I'm pretty new here...been lurking in the reading shadows. Recently I purchased my first Harley...a '07 Road King Custom. It had 411 miles on it when I drove off with it for less than half of what the owner had into it. I just finished with some mods that makes it more "my bike" now.
1. Replaced all the skulls (derby, timing cover, air filter cover, pegs, floorboards, brake pad, shifter and grips) with v-wing and streamliner equivalents.
2. Installed the Harley auxiliary lights using this kit
3. Added the optional visor style trim rings for the headlamp and auxiliary lights.
4. Installed BUB 7 True Duals, K&N RK-3909 Air filter System, Power Commander III USB, downloaded appropriate map
5. Changed the engine oil and filter
6. Changed the primary oil
Still need to change the transmission oil. All the installs went well with little issue.
QUESTION: I do have one question for those who have the same auxiliary light kit. While these do have a great internal wiring route once they exit you have to route it up and around to the wiring harness in the triple tree nacelle. What I'd like to do is drill a hole in the side of the triple tree nacelle directly where the wiring comes out of the bracket. I would drill it so I could put in a rubber grommet to avoid any wire chafing. Does anyone see a problem with this?
BTW, bike is looking and sounding good now. Definitely a seat of your pants improvement in throttle response and overall power. Very happy with the mods so far.

Good job on yer scooter and welcome to the forum, as for your question, I don't see a problem with it as long as you can get it sealed up so water and other crap can't get in there. I was thinking of doing the same thing, just too lazy to mess with it.
i also put on a detectable windshield so i need to make sure there won't be any interference with this method.

i thought of the same thing when i did the turn signal relocation kit, but quickly found out why hd has you route the wires the way they did. after a while, you won't notice them anymore.
+1, if you change handle bars, chrome lowers, cables. Or warranty issues like Buddy of mine had to have nacelle took off so a new switch could be added on right handlebar(horn/light assembly).

yes, there is one problem with this. either you're gonna have to cut and splice your wiring, or you're gonna have to drill a huge hole in the side of the nacelle, or you're gonna have to disassemble the connector if you ever need to take it off. if you don't think that you will ever take it off, or need to take your nacelle off (like when changing your fork oil), then it would be no issue.

so, the aux. lights in this kit (i don't have the turn signals as I have those in my mirrors) don't have a connector at the end and the connector in the nacelle allows the ends of the wire to slide in and out with ease and damage. i could easily get it through a 1/8" grommet. other than the inconvenience can you think of any other potential problems with this?
pictures are forth coming.
