speaker life?
Anybody experienced thier speakers going bad prematurely? Purchased a 05 ultra in aug. 07 with just over 3k miles on it. Right front speaker dead within 3 months. Checked the connections to the speaker, is there something else to check for?

Stock Harley speakers are crap. Several after market speakers available. I put Hog Tunes in my RG and love them. Some other brands have been discussed here before. Query speakers and you will come up with lots more info.
I also installed hogtunes speakers in my ultra. In my opinion they sound much better than stock. They are also warrantied for 20yrs. I am sure there are other speakers out there that sound good too. I only have experience with the stockers, hogtunes and some bolt on speakers I had on my last bike.

Spoke to the techy @ hogtunes in mid-december. He advised that if you want a amplifier ,then wait until sometime shortly into the New Year as they have something in the works that will be worth waiting for.
