Not really a money issue. I can't find a pewter denim in stock with it. Seems like dealers around here won't even negotiate price on a non floor model.
That's BS, you should be able to spend your hard-earned $$ on the bike YOU want. Find a dealer that will deal.

Then find another dealer. Most all dealers will dealer swap bikes but if they don't then take a road trip. There's no good reason to not get the bike you want even if you have to drive a few hundred miles. But tell the dealer what you want or you'll find it yourself. It's as easy as looking on his computer to find you one.
We've had abs on our work bikes for a couple years and I've found out through personal experience that as long as you brake evenly (front and rear)like you SHOULD then abs is a good o
ption. If you find that u favor the rear brake, then abs kicks in way too much and actually increases your stopping distances. Our NEW work bikes are having the abs deleted bc â lot ofc prefer it without. My personal bike doesn't have it.
Can a human being stop a bike just as fast without ABS? Yes. (It just takes skill)
This is wrong. ABS applies maximum braking to a point just before the wheels lock ups, releases them, and repeats. This happens faster than any person could ever do it.
You will only regret buying it when you need it.
I would not have a bike (or a car without ABS). Tell the dealer to find you a bike with ABS or walk. I don't care how good you think you are or how long you've been riding. You never know when that panic situation is going to happen or how you'll react in a split second. With ABS you just slam on the brakes as hard as you can, maintain control of your bike, and hopefully avoid laying your bike down or worse killing yourself or others. Isn't that worth $800? You'll spend that on bling many times over. Bling never saved a life. ABS has saved many.

Call Harley Davidson of West Bridgewater (Monty's). 1-508-583-1172 Jan 2nd. They are on Vaction right now. I got my 08 EGC there with ABS. They charged MSRP. NO frieght, NO Setup or handling. 1000 mile check is free and 2 hours of labor on any bling you have installed that you bought from the. Really streaght shooters.......don't know what they have in stock but they are a small dealer thats about 50 years old and know motorcycles.

My third bike and first with ABS and I don't believe I would have one without it! Go ahead and get it if you can afford it, it may save your backside in the future.
I pondered the same question and had to change to a different dealer to get an in stock bike with ABS. I had a bike on hold which did not have ABS. After reading and asking questions and looking at all the other mfg bikes in the touring class they all have ABS as a standard accessory.
If you think you need ABS then get it, you will not regret it. My new 2009 SG from another dealer now has ABS. It just makes me feel like money well spent.
Oh yeah, I did apply both brakes evenly, always do. If anything, favor the front brake. For some reason, in that oil, the rear instantly locked. RKCop, hope your experience is right.
