...do you get burned rain gear off the exhaust pipe. I was riding in the rain yesterday and my rain pants melted on the hot exhaust. I'v tried everything I can think of to get it off but have failed. any suggestions would be appreciated!
Warm it up, clean with 0000 steel wool. If you use oil based cleaning products, I'd think you'd want to wipe the pipes down with 50/50 alcohol/water to remove the oils. I've used the steel wool/heat methods numerous times and it works great.
Good luck
I've tried most, if not all of the above but Easy-off oven cleaner
works the best, no rubbing involved. Tape off (I used painters
masking tape and newspaper) the area you want to clean as I
doubt you want to get the cleaner on anything but the pipes.
Spray it on, leave it sit for a few hours then wipe it off, simple.
