Can anyone help? I have an 05 Road King and the other day when I was cleaning the bike I noticed my twin spots or passing lamps were out of alignment one pointing off to the side, and one was loose. I tried to use a allen wrench to take apart the directional lollipop which I did as the clearence there is non existant you need small handes and mini tools!!, and tighten the bolt as show in the HD parts book and the HD Service Manaual but the problem iss the wire for the lights run thru the bolt where the nut is and the only way to get a socket or wrech on it is cut the wire??? Duh, LOL HD does it again or is there another way like unplugging the lollipop or am I just a boob???any suggestions?? Thanks Bill
As easy as it looks, adjusting the spotlamps is a pain the keester! You have to have a modified socket to loosen the nut at the bottom. You may want to try a crowsfoot wrench, but it may not work the best. Sometimes, the lamp housing will move, if you muscle it a little bit. Be careful though! If it doesn't move, don't overforce it. This work may be under warranty (as it affects safety), and the dealer may adjust it for free. No guarantee, however.
Good luck!

The lamps are supposed to be pointed low and right of their centerlines, according to the service manual, which calls them auxillary lamps. You will need special socket mentioned in the manual, although some people have cut the wire and put in a small plug and socket. Others have bought a cheap socket and sawed through on side so the wire can slip in and out.
