I have a 06 FLHTCI. I left my EZPASS in the tourpack pocket where you can keep the bike's manual. It did not register when going through a toll yesterday. I had to open the Tourpack and let the attendent scan it manually.
Has anyone had any success sticking an EZPass to the underside of the Tourpack lid? I'd prefer not to have to resort to one of those external mounting brackets.
Your going to have to get creative when it comes to hiding it on your bike so it's not in the weather, but still functional. I don't have them around here, so I don't know where you would put it, but I would say that possibly on the wiring harness on the right side of the frame neck under your fairing. Do they have to be in plain view to work, or will they transmit through something. You could put it inside your fairing if they will transmit out. I don't know anything about them.
I am from Mass and I got my EZpass from NH. I tried mounting it to the inside of my right saddle bag lid on the front sloping section (still with me?) of my 06 FLHTCI so it would be positioned exactly as it would be if mounted to my truck windsheild. NO GO! It just wouldn't pick up. I have the hard plastic velcro strips on my windsheild now to fasten it when I ride the Hiways. I need to be able to detatch it coz I have to share it with my truck. Its new so it shouldn't be a battery issue, must be low power transmission.
