Default New Radio Problem

Has anyone had any problems with the new HK radio?? Yesterday mine locked up. Couldn't do anything. Couldn't even turn it off. Stopped, had a beer. When I re-started bike, after app. 1 hr., radio was working again. Maybe it was telling me it was time for a beer!!!

Make sure software version 7.8 is installed. Instructions on HD website (touring). Click on advanced audio for instructions.

My display went out within a few miles. Servict tech just had to install the 7.8 software and all was fine. He said that cures 75 to 85% of the radio problems.

Even if you have the latest update firmware on it, you can re-flash it. Says it takes 7 to 8 minutes to do it, but it took me more like 20 minutes.

Have the exact same problem you describe and have been messin around with it since I picked the bike up. It mostly happens when I try to play an MP3 CD. Sometimes some of them work, other times they lock it up, the volume goes haywire, can't change anything, turn it off, etc. The shop is suppose to call Harley tomorrow because the re-flash didn't work and they expect I'll get a new radio. On another note, on one of the Delphi forums a guy said he called Harmon Kardon and they told him not to use Memorex or Maxell disks, and use only Verbatim, Sony or Fuji. Don't know what difference that could make. I had some Sony disks so I burned an MP3 and the player wouldn't recognize that one either.
