Default no fear

I suggest you call Rod and co. and ask them to send you a different version, (height). I had to go thru 3 stands b4 i got the right one that enabled the bike to almost roll onto the stand. They have several diff. height units, and im sure they will help you.

If you always park the machine with the front tire up, (uphill), you will never have any troubles. This goes for center stand or not.

Default Thanks

Thanks everybody. Lot's of ideas, and at least one other as weak as me!

I hadn't thought about contacting the vendor since I have the stock Ultra and thought that the basic unit was fit for it. Perhaps they did send one a bit different. I'm going to measure the difference in height also to see how much difference there is

I'm not giving up, but do look quite stupid with my one leg on the center stand peg, sweating like a beast and my wife LOL.

Oh BTW, during the last year I lost 50 lbs to get to my current weight..ain't going back for nuthin

I'm 6'4" 275 lbs and find that while sitting on the ultra I have trouble applying enough weight directly in the center of the lift handle, it appears the handle is kind off far back to do easily from the dvr seat. I have better luck putting it up while standing beside it. I can then apply weight straight down with very little effort. Love my wheeldock stand, for lots of different reasons, easy fluid changes with no jack, bike stands straight up, takes up less room in garage, good investment.

Still, I like the stand and it works fine for me while standing beside the bike.
I am 260 and can not get it up while straddling the bike. I must get off and do it from the side and that's no picnic.

I had to read that twice before understanding exactly what you meant.

I would definitely contact the vendor. I have the Wheeldock center stand on my EGS, lowered front and rear, I'm 5"7", 155lbs and I can pull it on the stand every try, and I don't cough up a gonad while doing it. Also, if I use a 1/4" plywood slab, I can get the rear wheel to spin freely.

I don't understand what's so hard about it?

There should be no need to have to pull on anything to get it on the stand. What I do is put my foot on the lever, make sure both feet of the stand have touched down which basically centers the bike, then push down hard and up she goes. I don't pull on the bars, crash bars, anything. The key that I have found is focusing everything on that lever and pushing down hard.
