Default Photo request: Modified EGC's with SG Look?

I've been back and forth between going with a Street Glide or an Electra Glide Classic and in an earlier post, many members chimed in and I'll probably go the Electra Glide Classic route and give it the Street Glide makeover.

That being said, whose got some pics they can post showing what they've done to their Electra Glide Classics to give it a "Street Glide" look ?

I know there's a lot of yall out there.

Thanks and ride safe!

Its an older Electra-Glide But did the fairing mirrors, headlight, and a few other items to give it the Street-Glide look. You will be glad you did it that way. My
cousin has a 07 Street Glide and when we go on long trips we swap bikes about halfway each trip. He says my bike rides better and he has severe back problems. But the Street-Glide is a great bike.

I knew that would't take but a minute. Nice work on those two bikes & thanks. I really like the looks of the SG. I too though have back issues. I've had a cervical surgery with total disc replacement and down the road, the doc wants to cut my back. I'll do it when I can just about walk anymore at least for now I know what I am dealing with and I'll let someone else make his monthly payments on the fancy cars and big house lol.

I have a 07 SG and a 09 Ultra (I know it's not an EGC but very similar). The 07 was mine and a great bike, but when I got the Ultra I gave the SG to my wife.

Well my point in providing these is to show how simple bolt ons and take offs are NOT going to give you the full SG look. What you'll get is somewhere in between, which I think is still pretty good. So far I've changed the seat, handlebars, rear light bar, pipes, quick detached the tourpak, and removed the bag guards. All this and still it looks like a cut down Ultra. Again, nice but not the hot rod SG look although similar.

The part I hate about the Ultra is the fenders. To get the SG look I'll have to remove them, take all the junk off, fill the holes, and repaint. I tried to find SG fenders via ebay...no dice so far especially for the 09 rear. So I'll live with it for now. Also the rear turn signal, I thought I was saving some money and bought a kuryakyn deal for 140.00, turns out they look nothing like the SG turn bar. In fact, and in my opinion they are butt ugly. The bullets stick out way past the bar and the bike. Looks like...I don't know. Ugly. Later I found that I could get the SG bar with lights etc for 160.00. Dang... On the list.

The Back Comparison - notice I need to get that jiffystand bracket replaced. The 09 sits way too far over.

The Front Comparison

Front Fender Comparison

Kuryankyn SG wanna be light bar - hate it - afterburners?

With tourpak on

Smooth rear of the SG. Love it.

Left side

One thing I will mention is that everywhere we go (wife and I) people always comment on how great my wifes SG is. Never much about the Ultra... figures.

i think if you change out the pancake rear blinkers, strip of the bumpers and crash bars, and put ona sleeker seat you'll be right where you want.you'll have to imagine it for a picture, good luck what ever you do

Started to change mine over. Add fairing mirrors street glide Facia and new saddle bag guards along with street glide turn signal bar. and new seat and detachable tour pack. Around $1100.00 in parts plus my labor. The Street Glide may be cheaper if you do the full transformation. If you want pictures can post some

If you want an SG, get an SG and add a tourpak if your inclined. Taking the trunk off the Classic does NOT turn it into an SG, as some will tell you. Been there, done that. Get what you really WANT, and dont try to rationalize the Classic as being a better "value". While from a practical standpoint the Classic IS a better value, if you really want an SG, it WILL nag at you.

There are three things it is very costly to change on the Classic:

1. Wheels
2. clean fenders
3. No pinstripes

IMHO, the pinstripes will be the one thing that will always make the bike have the "traditional" look vs the "cleaner" look.
