Default Rear Tire

Anyone know the biggest rear tire you can jam under a stock Road King Classic?

I'd say a 150 unless you change the pulley and belt. I run a 150 on mine and it just cleared.

150 on my 01. Rubbed the inner (rubber) belt guard. When I backed up a few feet the tire would "grab" it and roll it up onto the top of the drive belt, where it would stay once I got rolling forward again. Had to trim an inch or so out of it.

This may sound stupid, but what is the advantage of a wider rear tire? My stock rear wide whitwall wore out at about 13k and isn't a bigger tire (which cost more) going to wear out around the same mileage? Just curious.

For those of you that have installed a larger tire - what did you do about the speedo? Unless you install a lower profile wider tire the speedo is going to be out and I haven't had any luck getting the stealer to adjust mine to correct the 5 mph error it has now.
