08 EGC. Bought in Brandon Florida, took it back to them for the 1K service as it was "free". Went to do my 5K service myself and noticed the head of the lower right screw on the derby cover was stripped out..couldn't loosen it. Took it to my dealer in Lakeland had them remove the screw and change fluid. Now at 10K, noticed a drop of oil under my primary...guess what?? the primary is leaking from the bottom. Went to remove the lower right screw..it just spun in the case..threads are stripped in the case, not on the screw. Now, I got two dealers involved but as far as I am concerned, Brandon stripped out the head of the screw, they get credit for the whole thing. Not looking forward to this battle.
I am sorry for your troubles. Having been a Machinist for years I know a helicoil job done right can be as good as original on something with no more stress then a Primary cover. However, I HAVE delt with with the dealer in Lakeland and would recommend either going to H&R on highway 92 or take it back to Brandon. Whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck! Rick
Thanx Kid, I appreciate your input. I was thinking the same about helicoil..the derby cover is not under that much stress. and I don't wanna get all spooled up over one screw that should be an ez fix..not the kinda guy that freaks over something like this. You know, I've dealt with Lakealnd several times w/no problems. I would prefer an indy but I wanna give the dealers a chance to fix this.

H&R are Certified Harley dealers but they don't do warrenty work. Better prices and nice folks, free opinions. I don't work for them or give me anything, they just always treated me really well and word of mouth means the world when you are in this business.
