I have plugged up the supplied headset to the rear passenger plug and was unable to hear music, is their supposed to be music or just intercom traffic on the headset? Also I would assume you have to have a cord extender or have your passenger ride leaning with their head down to the left? Looking into the intercom thing and wondering the best and most economical route. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You should be able to hear music through the headset. Refer to your owners manual, and it will give you step by step instructions. Make sure the speaker switch is in the off/forward position. Then everything should play through the headset.
Conehead,
As to your first question, check your owner's manual, but I believe you have a volume adjustment both front and rear, and I want to say you have to adjust the speaking (intercom) volume while or just after talking. You'll see this on the radio faceplate. I want to say you have separate volume for the radio and for the intercom feature.
As to the second question, unless your wife is very tall, I'm not understanding why her coil cord won't reach her connector. We've not had that issue on our bike, but my wife is only 5'1". You can stretch the factory coil cord a little and get extra length out of it, just be careful with it and don't hurt the connector ends when you do it. You may want to consider hanging it up and tying a light weight to the bottom end overnight and see how much it will stretch (if it's a coil cord).

Look at the owners manual, if the 09 is like the 05.........you have to flip the speaker switch on the inner faring to turn the headset speakers on.
The sets that I own came from White Horse Gear and are great.
here is a link to one of them.........just look for the rest. http://www.whitehorsepress.com/produ...oducts_id=5271
Hope this helps and I understood the problem.
