If it was an option available on the '09's, I would have bought it.....Backing the SG up is no fun at all on an uphill grade......

It's MoCo kit and will be covered under warranty for two years if installed before delivery.
This is new news, didn't think HD offered a reverse on the 2 wheelers. I know the reverse on the new Triglide will not work with the 2 wheeler. The Triglide reverse is a electric starter that engages a gear which is bolted to the rear belt drive pulley. Only reverses for 2 wheel that I know of are aftermarket which the installing dealer and the producer of the kit may warranty but the HD won't.

I will recheck with my dealer. I am told they can install one and it will count as part of my two year warranty. I'll check with them on Tuesday and get back to this thread.

Do not need a reverse yet, but later on in my riding years one will be in the works. The left knee will only get worse and also an extension on the kickstand will be needed to keep the bike from leaning over to much. Hopefully a trike won't be in the plans.

Moving up from a Sporty to an FLHRC and didn't even know this was an option. Not going to get it now, but can certainly see how it could help. If I start having issues backing it up I would certainly look into it.

Interesting so far. I thought more would have installed it already.

I will still be checking back with my dealer tomorrow for clarification on the HD reverse kit.

I can't say that i've ever even considered a reverse gear. If i ever find myself in a situation where i can't back the bike up, i just don't park there. As far as passengars go, usually just have her get off before i back the bike up anyway. As with anything though, if its something that you think you need, then i don't see anything wrong with having it. Whatever keeps you on two wheels!!!

Their web site mentions possible conflict with 2 into 1 systems where the rear cylinders header pipe routes forward around the transmission before joining the front cylinders pipe. That sounds a lot like the 09's layout. I just sent an email to Baker, asking about this. I'll let you folks know what they say when I a response.

Ok folks, here the resonse I got from Baker Drivetrans:

So there ya go! I am impressed with the fast respnse though. Not everyone does that!
