I need a reverse!! I have a large 2 seater sidecar attached to my 07 HD Police Road King. I am very interested in the reverse. I know Champion makes a kit as well as some other company I saw. I did not know baker had one. Anyone have any experience with any of those as far as purchase and installation? reliability, etc.?

My neighbor who is 75 and rides an EG standard, just installed the Champion Trikes reverse gear. The local HD dealer installed the unit for $2500. It looks and works great.
Never thought about it and I don't need one. Of course I am 6' 2" and have no problems pushing the bike around even with the wife on it. If I didn't have long a$$ legs, I might have an issue.
Champion makes a great reverse gear that bolts directly to your five or six speed tranny. I think they sell for around $1,300. I had one installed on my '08 Ultra when I had it triked last year. Only had to use it three times so far as the trike is actually easier to manuver than a two wheeler 'cause I don't have to hold it balanced. The only trick is that you have to shift to neutral, then to first gear to stop the gears, then back to neutral and engage reverse. It shifts slick as butter!!! Don't EVER shift back into first while the reverse lever is still engaged!!! You can check it out at www.championtrikes.com
Trying to talk my wife into a Road King or a Street Glide. She wants a removeable hack for the dog. She's 110 and can't flatfoot my SG. There's no way she'd be able to walk one out of a parking spot. This would be invaluable to her.
I have thought about it, but seems a bit too $$$ just to make it easier to back into my garage. Don't really need it when out, but could be useful on occasion I guess. But there is an incline getting to my garage, and a large lip to get over at the entrance, and I fantasize about reverse every time I am trying to back into there. Of course the bigger fantasy would be a garage big enough to turn around in
$1400-$1700 just seems like too much to me. If it was the difference between riding or not (handicapped type issue), then I would jump on it. Otherwise, I would hope the price came down.
