But I bet that kit cost you more than $ 1,400/1,700!

There are a few companies that make a reverse, many people may need one for many different reasons. I'm fortunate enough to be in good health and strong enough where I don't need one, I wish they would have been around when my father was still riding, he gave up riding mainly because of a bad back, backing up a bike put him in serious pain. I don't knock reverse, back in the day when most bikes had kick starters they used to say electric start was for sissies, well look at all the sissies now, lol. Nothing wrong with someting that can help you enjoy your ride.

For a lot of us it's an inseam issue, not strength. I can only get the ***** of my feet down, that's usually fine for level ground but throw an incline and the wife into the mix and the leverage falls short.

Has anyone installed one of these kits themselves?

$1400 for the Champion kit, but how is the install?

A friend of mine has a '11 Ultra Limited, and he has that short inseam issue. So he asked me to find out about reverse for it.

I first read that as ..."can only get the ***** off my seat"..... whew, what a vision..and somehow it all made sense.

Reading through this thread, I noticed that MOST of the people that don't see a need for this live in Flat Country. Here in the Hills of TN it would be great!! If I happen to have the scratch, and no other priorities, I will get a reverse gear.

why not just get off the bike and push it from the front?

(I'm not trying to be a wise ***...I'm actually asking this question as I'm new to large heavy bikes and am actually wondering if that's an option...just get in front of the bike, grab the handlebars so you can steer it and push....when done set it back down on the kick stand).

hold the handlebars from the front? I guess depending on your model/type of handlebars that may be difficult.
