Question Stator replacement

Curious how difficult on a scale of 1 to 10 you guys think it would be for a mechanically inclined individual to remove and replace the stator on a 98 ultra classic. I have changed the primary chain and clutch in the past and am considering tackling the stator. I have the shop manual but not all the special tools they list in the manual (puller, chain block, etc).

I changed one on a 97 wideglide. It's been a while but I don't remember it being difficult. Should be about the same.

Special tools are my issue too...

BUT, things liekthe chain block and others can be home made...

There is athread here (or on google), about making one out of a $2.00 cutting board (the white plastic kind).... search the "dyna under 50 bucks" thread... or others here for the info (If I find it first I will post it here).

I make alot of my own tools (reasonable facsimiles of factory REQUIRED thing).... The stator is cheap, the labor is probably under 2 hours, and the satisfaction is GREAT!

PS, take pictures and make notes... post them if you can, but at least KEEP them so you can do it again!
