Where did you get it?

I like the idea

I think I found it in the baby section at a walmart or something. I remember I looked for a while before I found it.

That's a nifty idea, CMSHOG! The only downside to that is when I pull the lowers come spring, I loose the pouches also... but I guess you can't have everything.

One other idea for the forum, I bought thick dark brown felt from WalMart that has peel & stick tape on the backside. Go with a smoked windshield which helps hide the felt and pouches from view, then cut and paste the felt pieces where needed on the backside of the pouches... don't stick them to the windshield.

One other problem this solves is that I have the "triple" pouch set, and the two on the outside vibrate like crazy at times. The thick felt helps to steady this vibration down to a minimum.

Easy fix, guys. Go to Wally World and buy a pack of cabinet door bumpers. They make them in round flat cork or round plastic bubble shape. I used the round plastic bubble (clear) version. They have adhesive on the back of them, peel and stick. I stuck one onto the windshield on either end of my windshield bag (total of 6) so the bag would not make contact with the windshield, but the rubber bumper instead. Works just like those used on on a wind deflector on the hood of a truck. Stick them to the hood, the deflector does not rub the paint off of the hood. Same thing with the windhield bag. Stick them on the windshield, the bag no longer rubs the windshield. PACO

I did the same thing but then added a layer of clear protective film on the inside to keep the bags from rubbing the paint off. Looks really nice and I like that you can't see the pouches from the front of the bike.

You could also apply a clear piece of contact paper on the inside of the sheild so it doesn't get scratched.

I have a smoked windshield and I too a tip from the forums and put a small square of velcro on the back corners of the pouches and on the windshield. you don't notice the black velcro against the pouches and the velcro keeps the the pouches from vibrating and scratching the windshield.

The bumpers work - I ended up with some 1/4" self-adhesive neoprene (not unlike a mouse pad). Works like a charm. *PLUS* (side-noting, as I'm so apt to do) I put a little on the *inside* of the shield under the fairing where the inner fairing "frame" comes in contact with the wind shield - No more squeaking.

I know - A lot of people don't have any squeaking. I did. It was driving me absolutely batty. Not anymore.

Speaking of side notes, the aformentioned rubber bumpers I use to put on the back side of the windshield to keep my windshield bags from rubbing also work great stuck on the bottom of the saddle bags. They keep you from scratching the bottom of the bags whenever you take them off and sit them on the floor/ground etc. Outstanding little gadgets...PACO
