I saw the HD LED lighting on a friends Ultra. The LED lights that flood the interior of the TP and the bags. I was wondering if someone else had something else that was better? I liked the add No battery and the 5 minute shut off feature. What's out there?
I refuse to pay $80 for a tour pac light. I should have $20-25 in it when done.
I just purchased 2 ALM-x-W6 from superbrightleds.com. I am working on finding a switch to operate when lid is opened. A tip switch, magnetic switch, small toggle switch or a small push button switch are my options. I have bought a toggle switch and a NC push button switch. I want it to look professional when completed. I haven't messed with any of it yet bike is on jack waiting for front end to come back from chromer.
I tried one of those LED puck lights from Menards, only lasted a couple weeks, it fell apart.
I picked up the above set of three LED lights from Costco. They attach using velcro, and if you fit one into the corner next to the lock it won't take up any usable space. They can be set to turn on when they detect ambient light and shut off automatically when you close the lid, or you can manually operate them. They can also be aimed. They have batteries but they'll last a long time because LEDs draw so little power, and I don't need to mess around with wires when I remove/install the bags.
I put one in each of the saddle bags as well. Great results at very little cost.

A buddy of mine have something similar but he found his at Wal-Mart they are the push type similar to those you see advertise on the "Info-mercial" channel. For me I keep one of those LED light you put on like a "Visor". It folds smaller than a tennis ball.

I have the puck lights in my tour pak and have had them for about six months. Mine are the push button ones from Walmart. Oh, my tour pak sets in the garage most of the time but I did make a 1500 mile trip a while back and all is still good.

I don't know, maybe all pucks are not the same. If I am not happy with the lights I bought maybe I will try puck again.
Puck lights for me on my last two bikes. Works great and costs almost nothing. If it stops working you can replace it for a dollar. On my last bike I had them in my saddle bags for at least three years and never even needed to replace the batteries. They stick on with double sided tape but still come off cleanly when needed.
