I need help. I have a 2003 ROAD GLIDE. I was riding last Sunday when my bike lost idle (It will not stay running by it self ), my speedometer went to 0 and the check engine light came on . Any ideas on what can be wrong??
Change your tranmission speed sensor. Allen screw on top of your tranny. Has a wire that runs up to below your seat. First remove it and clean it. It is a magnet. If that does not fix it, have it replaced. $60 or so, if my memory serves me right.
I bet your self cancelling blinkers do not work either???
Hello this is what I done so far, ride it on Monday and it was working fine for the first 45 min to an hour after that it did it again so I removed the seat to check the plug for the speed sensor and it looks ok after the engine was cold toke it out again and it worked fine .
I will pull the sensor and cleaned to see what happen.
Yeah, cuz if it is acting up, cleaning it may not be a permanent solution. If you are going to go to the trouble of taking it out, may as well replace it.
