as i'm still on the fence as to my choice,(85%) ROAD KING,(15%) STREET GLIDE. really don't like any of the RK colors,so that leaves vivid black as only real choice. first choice would be black pearl, and it is offered on the SG. i'm just fighting over not needing/wanting a radio and batwing, but i'm sure i could live with them. part of the problem with the SG choice is that i really, really like the RED HOT DENIM paint, but i don't know anything about it,as far as cleaning it or taking care of it. bad for me,but dealer has the red hot denim SG on the floor, along with a dark blue pearl RK. any comments to get me started? thanks.
i didn't think the cruise control or the radio would be as big a selling feature but know I can't imagine not having either. The nice thing about the street glide is that it's still a nice bar hopper. I'm biased but I'd go with the glide.
Either way, enjoy, it's your bike.
Don't you know that vivid black it the fastest color!!!!
I will buck the trend, not everyone wants or needs a radio. You can add a detachable fairing to a RK standard and have a very similar look. I have a RK + windshield + batwing. And you should know, there isn't a much cooler looking bar hopper than a RK with no windshield and solo seat!!!
Can't remove the batwing on a SG whenever want. But you can always plop one on your RK!
The denim paint is easy to maintain. You wash it with warm water and dish soap. Rinse the bike and wipe it down with a damp terry cloth towel. You're done. If there is a spot of something on the finish, you spray it with window cleaner and wipe it down again with the damp cloth.
