I would think it would be worth about $8 thousand without the damage history. Obviously less with the bad history. You should probably check with your state laws and insurance company about potential problems. Resale will also produce problems with the buyers. I went through this once(car) and it was not fun or profitable.
judging by what they have recently SOLD for on eBay a similar mileage similar year RK is worth about $9000 then you would need to deduct for any damage history or title issues that you have.
Something doen't add up here.If bike only had minimal damage ,why would owner take a insurance check and give up bike? Bike had to had enough damage to warrant insurance company to issue check that would cover owners investment in that year bike. Also bet that new title will be a salvage title since insurance co. probably totaled bike.Shop that repaired bike probably only replaced cosmetic items that were damaged.I would want to see the insurance estimate of repairs on this one.
[Sometimes the amount of damage isn't a factor. Find out if you will receive a rebuilt or salvage title. This is where the problems start. I'm not familiar with NY laws regarding this so my opinion isn't worth much. Every state seems to deal with this in a different manner. In Illinois the state is increasingly getting more difficult with damaged vehicles. Of course, our state government here in Illinois is becoming infamous for it's leadership.

+1. Vehicles with a salvage title generally go for about 1/4-1/3 of what the low bb says.
