Question HID lighting

How hard is it to change to HID lighting, and what are some of the good brands? I checked out Fusion and Digital. Thinking about going there since I do quite a bit of night riding, and it would help in the day too.

There is lots of information about installing and facts on my web site here also do a search on this site. Go to Lighting, Front and there is several movies by our HDF member haywood727 and any subject you wish to view. In the future all vehicles will have HID as the manufactures are now offering in some models.

HID is normally only used on low/dip beam and kept on constantly. I have a Harley conversion kit on my bike and it has two reflectors and bulbs in the same 7 inch reflector. The main beam is a normal type bulb.

To fit HID on a bike with two headlamps you con convert the dip beam side. For a dresser with a single headlight you need to fit a twin bulb unit. There are contributors here who reckon using one of them with high performance bulbs, not HID, is easier and gives great results.

Look around HDF for HID threads and you will pick up some useful tips.

gunner, I put the HD one on my RK and it was not that bad. The only pain in the **** part was running the wiring under the tank, other than that it was a breeze. Just need to find some smaller bulbs that match for the side lamps, as the stock ones look "yellow" compared to the HID.

Really lights up the road better thatn stock!
