Question Replacing my inner fairing - Switch help??

This morning I am going to replace my inner fairing with a newly painted one for my 06 Street Glide.

I never bought a manual and am pretty good with mechanics, but I have concerns about how to remove / replace the switch!

Anyone have any suggestions, comments, or cautions that I need to know about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes.... I will be selling my old inner fairing - great condition!

Thanks!!

Put key in ign, turn to acc, depress button under switch, turn key back 60 more degrees, should release switch,But you really should have a manual.

Default I agree

You are right about the manual. I may run down and pick one up, but I keep procrastinating on spending money on things I "need", rather than on what I want!

Thanks for the help though! I do appreciate it.

+1--Buy the Service Manual.

FWIW, when I have removed my fairing cap (when installing a painted inner fairing, adding switches for cruise control, lights, etc.), I have reinstalled the ignition after the cap is removed. Mine is an '04 so I don't know if there is a reason not to do this on an '06 or not.

Best not get the tumblers in the switch out of place or you will need a beer or two to calm your nerves!!!

Ask me how I know.

This is for an 08, I know they had changed the removal procedure but I don't know if it was in 06 or 07
