I have seen the breakover center lifts that are made out of tubing to get the tire off the ground to clean the wheels. What I'm looking for is a take apart/stowable unit that could be carried with you when going on some long back roads. For that just in case of a flat tire. Has anyone ever saw such an item? Having the best jack or lift at home doesn't help when you're in BFE.
While I was driving in the mountains of Puerto Rico last month, I was thinking, what a beautiful place to ride. And as things go, I got to talking to the buddy I was with, he said If a guy had to fix a flat here, it would be almost impossible. We were about 80 miles from a Harley shop, down in some of the steepest, crockedest roads I've been on. The dragon has nothing on these roads. And he mentions, this would be a Heck of a place to fix a flat. So I was thinking. I don't recall seeing a portable jack that a guy could use if need be.
I am counting on the center stand that I have installed doing the job for me. Just one of the many uses.
Yeah, me too, but don't know what good it would be other then spinning the flat tire to find the hole or if you used tire slime you could spin it to seal the hole.
There are some beautiful places in this world that are NOT on a tourist map. So in trying to prepair for such a bike trip, I was thinking outside of the box, Hoping for an answer or someone that might have an idea for a snap together bike lift. I have a tire repair kit, and co2 fill kit, just no lift. If you were 40 miles from the closest gas station, no cell phone reception, what would you do?

I have been researching this a lot lately and still don't have all the answers yet. I do know it takes a minimum of 4 of the Co2 cartridges to get a tire up to 24 to 30 psi so I have found a compressor that is very compact to solve that problem. I have a canter stand so I can spin the wheel to find the hole (hopefully) I think the only way for a repair that has tire damage is to rely on the kindness of strangers.
